OK, I know professional bass fishing is a big thing, but I learned something new today. That bass fishing is a competitive sport in high schools and college. To the extent that a local Lower Burrell/Central Catholic angler received a scholarship to ‘one of the top bass fishing schools in the country’, Bethel University in Tenn.

Interesting, didn’t know this existed in high schools and colleges.

Good for him. Nothing wrong with fishing. Hope he gets a great education. I grew up on a road with Boarding stables and hobby ranches. My neighbor got a rodeo scholarship to an Oklahoma school. Takes all kinds.

Yeah, I wasn’t meaning to put it down. Just something I wasn’t aware of, particularly being able to get a college scholarship for it.

My friend's son started Pitts bass team a while ago. They're bass competition jerseys are very nice. I would love to get one.
College bass fishing's very popular in the south and quickly gaining popularity in the north.

My guess is that these guys and girls will participate in fishing a lot longer in life than other college students will with their "sport". Including Frisbee.
