I was at a high school football game on Friday. There was a bad head to head hit and the player was put on a stretcher and an ambulance came and took him to the hospital.
There was a 30 minute delay and both sides decided to cancel the remainder of the game. The score was 27-0 with 5 minutes left in the second quarter. When it was announced, the crowd cheered and was not upset.
Yesterday morning they found the player regained all physical feeling in his body and was ok.
That was the first time I have ever heard of a game being canceled because of an injury. Not saying the decision is right or wrong. I think it's a reflection of how people and fans feel about the danger now of football.
