Obviously, I'm not saying all of those guys are any good or will get drafted. But guys will move up and down unexpectedly between now and April. No one thought much of Will Levis at this time last year. College production is just one facet of many. It's all about a team thinking a guy has attributes they can work with.

I was thinking the same thing. I want the steelers to trade Kenny Pickett ASAP. Would have been nice for Pickett, Addison and the Vikings if they could have pulled it off. Pickett needs to get away from tomlin and canada as quickly as he can.
Khan the accountant should have made some trades for draft picks next year. we are sellers, not buyers, this year anyways..
would have been foolish to invest even more money and risk the future for a CB or a safety. how much do we really want to invest in this defense, it's already one of the highest paid defenses and it's ranked 30th. so we replace a mediocre DB with a good one, we are still the 4th best team in our division..
honestly, with Herbig looking good, i'd have seen what we could have gotten for Highsmith. a first rd pick, i'd have pulled that one. we signed him huge money and well, he's back to being irrelevant again and Watt is taking the double teams too..
Not sure if someone like muth would even be coveted on the trade market, maybe someone like Minkah pre-injury too..
Agreed. As I wrote above, there’s no fun at all to follow a prominent Pitt player on this miserable, boring, stagnant Steelers team. In Conner’s first couple seasons he was excellent here (when not injured of course), making the pro bowl, because the OL was still solid. Once it went to hell, he was mediocre, of course, as every Steelers back has been since. It became miserable watching Conner get slaughtered for no gain or a loss repeatedly, and the media pouncing on him (that cancer good will went out the window fast). It was merciful he wasn’t signed again.
Pickett, as written above, can be good or even excellent, but only when everything around him is similarly high quality. His ceiling has always been career backup in the NFL (which is a sweet gig). He isn’t the type that can make chicken salad out of chicken crap. What the Steelers have now is chicken crap.
So it is similarly miserable watching the Steelers now. I earnestly wish Mustache Mitch was playing tonight because it would be more bearable to see him getting his head knocked in every play. Pickett has it tough enough when healthy; playing with bad ribs while running for his life will be worse. Pickett can’t be moved out of this town fast enough.
