It’s one of the most tragic stories I have read about in some time. A 30-something couple in North Carolina who have two biological children have over the years adopted four children: a Taiwanese girl with cerebral palsy and 3 Ugandan siblings, one of whom is developmentally disabled. They went to the beach for what was supposed to have been a fun day. The father was playing on the beach with three of the children when a giant wave struck him. Somehow it hit him with such force that it knocked him down. His neck was broken by the force of the impact with the ground and he died almost instantly.
Now, the wife, who is physically handicapped, is going to have to raise these six children in her own. She needs help! The friends who started the fund raising campaign initially hoped to raise $100,000, and have raised that in one day. But, I fear that isn’t nearly enough.
