Good find. Steelers management team of that era was likely mocked like the Pirates and Pitt are today (or at least how Pitt's was during the Haywood/ Graham / Stallings fiascoes). One fell swoop the Steelers turned things around as far as professionalism. Results took a few more years to bear fruit. Maybe it has happened with Pitt already? One can only hope.
