What did the refs have to do with Clairton getting their asses kicked? high school refs makes mistakes like any human beings but all in all they do a pretty damn good job. Calling them garbage is pretty ignorant.

I don't think they had anything to do with Clairton losing. BG receuiting a 280lb OL and 50-60 kids onto a single A team is what caused Clairton to lose. You shouldn't be able to hand pick players across a county to go to a school. And for the record, I think what CC does is bullshit also.
HS refs across the board suck. And what makes it worse is that the further you go in the PIAA's, you have to deal with their anti wpial bias. You can think it's not there, but it's there.

We know officiating is fallible, I don't get the problem with coaches complaining about officiating after a tough loss. chances are he is right about a few calls, but in the end when you look at the whole game the refs get most calls right. but they do make errors and those errors do result in games outcomes occasionally.
I don't think this was the case in a 17-0 game though.

To answer your question, the relationship between Lamont and HC Wade is I believe they are cousins. The main complaint by HC Wade was lack of holding calls on BG and I don't know if the complaint was valid or not.
Always gonna happen. I will say though if you can hand pick your team, you should not be single a. Totally different than the kids from clairton growing up in a small town. Single a, the lowest classification! You gotta be kidding me. They should all be required to at least be AA, maybe even AAA.
I hope Coach Wade realizes all the BG fans, players and coaches along with those refs are likely Penn State fans.
BG probably hand picked Guman as the Referee.
BG is the only Catholic HS option. It's not all "handpicking" as most of their kids came from Catholic elementary schools....a natural progression. A big difference from PCC pulling kids from city schools (good for those kids)
The funny thing is that most of his complaints are factually incorrect. He complained that they had so many more penalties called on them, and yet BG had four penalties called on them and Clairton only had three called on them. Then he complained (maybe after someone pointed that out to him) that the refs called a bunch of penalties on BG in the fourth quarter to even things up and make it look better, and yet BG only had one penalty called on them in the fourth quarter.
I wasn't there and I didn't watch the game, but let's also remember that Wade bitching about the refs stealing a game from them happens pretty much ever single time that they lose a game (which certainly is a rare occasion). Someone mentioned Penn State fans in this thread, well, Wade would fit in perfectly as a Penn State fan because he is firmly of the belief that Clairton never actually loses a game, but on rare occasions the refs steal a game from them. He's a sore loser. And let's hope that his comments that he can say whatever he wants because he can't be fined for bitching about the refs like an NFL or college coach can leads to a nice, long suspension from hopefully the school but if not the school then the PIAA to give him some time to reflect on his piss-poor sportsmanship.

Call me naïve for not knowing the relationship of the head coach of Clairton football to it's star player.. I guess I got to get out more, hang out with people that know such important info like this already..
