In watching the Steelers/Colts game, I can't remember seeing Bell tripped up from behind or not able to get outside as I have seen this season. I thought it might have been the lack of training camp early on, but now it looks like he has lost a step, especially on short passes where he is trying to find room, or gain the edge. They showed him on the sideline later in the game and he just looked worn out.
I understand that NFL defenses may have caught up to his running style and are more patient in filling the holes and getting to him, but there was quite a difference when Conner made his one solid run for 10 yds. He looked fast to the hole and followed his blocking well. I noticed quite a difference. Of course Conner is getting only 1-2 runs per game where Tomlin is literally running the legs off of #26.
I am glad he didn't sign the long-term deal as I want to see how he ends the season before the Steelers commit additional $$'s to him.
