I mean he's going to get there eventually but has a coach ever been inducted before age 60? Also, how is he 59???

Everytime I think of Jay Wright, I think of what went wrong with Jamie. Jamie was regarded as a better coach than Wright and had a better program. Never in a million years would I have believed Jamie would only make 4 NCAATs with 1 NCAAT win in 10 years while Jay won 2 friggin Natty's and gets a 1 seed like every year. How did their paths diverge so greatly?

Nova fell into a perfect spot after the Big east split. And they got very very lucky that Jay is a loyal and smart fella.

Pitt, Syr, UConn, WVU, and Louisville leaving certainly helped immensely but for 2 coaches, so seemingly similar to go down paths this different, its just hard to believe. I have said before, I cant think of another coach who has backslidden to the level Jamie has without sanctions.

It’s a good point. Jamie was a peer with a better program.

I also have to think a lot of those players would have been our players. I have no scientific evidence there, but you would think kids that wanted out of the big inner cities but close to the East Coast are going there now.

Jay Wright has a big personality, closer to the East Coast, Philly, DC/Baltimore and NYC/Jersey. So he recruited better.

Big personality, yes. But I never buy the location argument? How does Huggins get kids to live in Morgantown and play all their games in Texas?
For one thing, we do this with State College. These aren't 35 year old adults, with disposable income looking for nice restaurants. They are mostly college age kids. So where there are alot of college age kids (girls) really nothing else culturally matters. Second, Huggins is a Hall of Famer.

I don't think anything was wrong with Jamie. It just turns out he wasn't near the coach or recruiter as Wright. Not many are.
