So the Jets are beating the Rams right now by 10 pts in the 3rd.

So if the Jets end up winning and then finish season tied with the Jaguars, anyone know who would win the tiebreaker for the Lawrence sweepstakes.

No way the Jets are going to let themselves win, is there? Didn’t they just have a game where people were saying they purposely threw it away at the end.

And as I was typing, Jets up 20-3 now. Jets fans must be going crazy.

This can’t be, someone started a thread on here a couple weeks ago that the Jets were intentionally tanking.

From NFL.Com: In situations where teams finished the previous season with identical records, the determination of draft position is decided by strength of schedule — the aggregate winning percentage of a team’s opponents. The team that played the schedule with the lowest winning percentage will be awarded the higher pick.

I believe that Jacksonville would get the first pick.

I don’t think Fields is a top 3 QB prospect in this draft.

Who else do you have in mind? Lawrence is obvious, and I think Wilson is at least on par with Fields. To be honest I see a lot of similarity between those two.

After that I don’t really see anyone else better. Lance has great measurables, but the few times I’ve watched him I just didn’t see a guy that has star written all over him. I think he has a shot to be good, but he doesnt have much of a body of work to really go on. Admittedly it is hard to downgrade a guy that’s never thrown an INT in his college career.

Im not a huge Trask guy, I think he has journeyman written all over him, same for Kellen Mond. Mac Jones intrigues me a little, I wouldn’t be opposed to someone taking him in the late 1st round.

Big quarter of football upcoming for Sam Darnold as he (maybe) auditions for teams looking to give him a second chance. This is the point in close games where he’s committed the big turnover in the past.

It will take something special to blow it now.
The Rich Eisen Show will be a must-listen tomorrow... even when they win, they lose!

Now, let’s say the Jaguars end up securing the first pick and the Jets finish with the second. Do they draft Fields and keep Darnold? Something to follow.

Do the Jets keep Darnold now?

They are a very oddly run organization, nothing they do would surprise me. Would not be shocking to see them keep him and draft Sewell with the #2 pick.

Hell I wouldn’t be shocked if somehow they offered the Jags the moon to move back up to #1, thats how bizarre the Jets are.

If they have the #2 pick, then they’d be wise to trade back and accumulate picks and/or good players via a trade.

Jets have to at least think about keeping Darnold, trading down and picking up extra picks to accumulate talent. They already have two first rounders. Maybe trade down and take Pitts or Chase, then the top OT to bookend with the No. 23. Could probably get a top RB at the top of the second giving Darnold two good OTs, a young rookie RB, Mims, and Pitts/Chase.

Another thing to consider, Jets fans were saying Lawrence would also lure a top coach. Maybe not the case anymore now that they won't have Lawrence.

ESPN article said Jax has weaker schedule so if tied they get first pick

Jets could get a bundle for that second pick. No way do you draft Fields and with a rookie left tackle in place don’t need Sewell.

Of course I had the Rams on the ML as the final leg of my 6 team parlay. That part of the bet at -1700 probably barely even added $10 to my bet. Yoinks. Biggest upset ATS in 25 years.

There will be a team that'll fall in love with one of the other quarterbacks and will want to move up. The question is do the Jets trade back and take a QB or do they try to load up on talent for Darnold?

If they liked Lance even close to as much as Fields I assume they could drop down maybe 5-7 spots and pick up a nice bounty in return. Maybe even drop down 2-3 places and still be able to get Wilson, although that may be a risky strategy.
