Good story about a rival's coach.
We were walking out of our tournament on Sunday and my daughter started yelling "Coach Katie!" I looked up and saw PSU's coach and her husband about thirty feet away. She called out again and Katie turned and said hello. We got some pictures with her and my daughter and we congratulated her on the NC. Was a nice moment. Another dad told me that she was holding court near where her daughter's were playing, between games, taking pictures with anyone who asked. She reposted everything she was tagged in on Instagram. It has to be tough to still be recovering from cancer and spend that much time with young players who are just fans of her or the game but she was really gracious and full of smiles for the girls. It's good to see someone at the top of the game investing time, even when they aren't feeling well. I've only ever heard good things about Katie and I will continue to praise her contributions to the sport. Still want to beat her every time we play PSU but I definitely respect her for who she is.
