Great matchup of two of the four best teams on ESPN right now. Real high level play so far. Phenomenal passing on display from Gasol.

Also two of the three best centers in the league for you old school dudes who want points in the paint.

There are a lot of skilled big men right now in the NBA. I really enjoy watching the Joker play.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Embiid’s game has rebounded when he’s surrounded by people who can actually make an open jumper. Also how in the actually heck is Elton Brand and those still employed.

I know some bristle at uniform talk so apologies in advance. But how many unis do some of these teams have? I’m no hard core fan by any stretch but every time I see the Lakers on tv they look totally different.

This very well could be the Finals matchup.

Embiid is the league MVP as far as I'm concerned. Sixers are in first place but haven't won a single game when he sits. Per 36: 31 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, only 2.7 fouls. He's absolutely unstoppable right now.

The MVP race is going to be fascinating. I think it's a two way race between LeBron and Embiid. Embiid will put up better numbers and advanced stats. LeBron has the edge on storyline.

I side with Embiid for the same reason I sided with Iverson: Embiid is the most valuable player to his team. Period.

Not necessarily the best, just the most valuable.

The Sixers are 13-2 with Embiid and 0-4 without him. The Lakers are still probably a playoff team without LeBron. The Sixers don't win 35 games (maybe not even 30) without Embiid.

Embiid will get hurt and miss a bunch of games at some point. LBJ should win MVP if he keeps playing at this level.

He has people that can make shots, Tobias is having a really good year, and Doc is making Embiid play more inside the paint instead of shooting 3 after 3. Embiid can make threes if he shoots a few per game. When he starts shooting too many, he is less effective. But he is a load inside and tough to cover and it’s leading to an MVP type year so far.

His FG percentage is at almost 55%, which is 7+ percentage points higher than his average and he’s shooting 40% from 3 this year.
