1) During a recent show, The Fan's Josh Taylor was kvetching about criticism of him by one or more media colleagues. He was pretty angry and said that he outhustled eveyrone else in the market, does whatever he is asked to do, doesn't mail it in like others in the business. I listened in mid-rant and don't know if he named anyone specifically. Anybody catch that? I like Taylor; he works hard. And aside from too much rah-rah for Duquesne, he's a fresh, frank voice. And not a Nitter.
2) Speaking of Nitters, Paul Alexander subbed for Josh on a recent Sunday, Normally the guest host acknowledges the regular host's program, but Alexander referred to it as "The Paul Alexander Show". A small thing, but a breach of radio etiquette. I wonder if Taylor was referring to Alexander? Didn't Alexander get booted from The Fan originally because he did not prepare, he just winged it?
3) Saturday afternoon Alexander did his own show. Alexander is about my age and so his recollections have relevance to a dinosaur like me, but child PLEASE did he go overboard with orgasmic praise of the PSU White Out in store for Michigan. This line: "Penn State is a special place. The White Out is special. Pitt fans know it, too. And if they have a problem with that, it's on them."
Pitt's flagship station, waving the blue-and-white banner.
