I had just finished my junior year at Pitt and she was a Shadyside Hospital nursing student, we met in a bar (I think now closed down) called Haddon Hall down Centre Ave past the old Giant Eagle. As opposed to the beer me and my fraternity brothers and I were swilling down, I bought her a mixed drink (a Singapore Sling) and the rest they say is history.
FYI beer was .25 a mug, $1 a pitcher and a mixed drink was $1 back then.
