OT: MLB Playoffs

Saw this article this morning and I don't know what to make of it. If the XFL or some other upstart league had a scheme where the best teams could cherry pick it's playoff opponents, it would be mocked. Also not sure how they expand the playoffs and go deeper into November. Winter baseball is dumb.

Yeah. And if they did, it would be three road games.

They should go with the NFL model and have 12 teams make the playoffs. Reward the two teams with the best records with a bye and make sure the Wild Card round is a best-of-three game series. This one-game Wild Card sucks when everything in baseball is about series.

I find it ironic yet fitting that when MLB awarded the 2nd wild card the team most affected by it was the Pirates. Because if only one WC the Pirates still would have gotten in and wouldn’t have had to face Baumgartner or Arrieta in a one game play in.
