OT: Movies

I know we have some movie folks here, and if you ask me, this is a great time for films. I already have my plans finalized to get to the theater and get in line for Star Wars on Thursday. So that's great.

I'm also stoked to see The Revenant. I'm curious how closely it sticks to the tall tale.

I'll probably pass on Joy. I thought Silver Linings Playbook was atrocious and American Hustle was worse. Since this is the same cast...

Most importantly, the trailer came out for my absolute favorite comic book villain. I love Apocalypse. Not crazy about his voice though. I'm not a fan of Sophie Turner as Jean, but that's tied to my problems with the portrayal of Sansa on Game of Thrones. But JUBILEE! I hope they stick her in an ugly yellow jacket at some point.

I'm intrigued because I want to see the Trinity, but I'm not crazy about Eisenberg as Luther. I liked Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville.

Suicide Squad looks great. I'm interested to see the guy from 30 Seconds from Mars as the Joker. I'm also pretty pumped for Captain America. Black Panther and Spider Man!

As for Silver Linings: I get why people liked it. I get why Lawrence won best actress (even if I think she's a tad overrated). It's just not my thing. I saw it late so I think I went in having been exposed to all the hype.
