Finally opened a few months ago. Same owners as Off the Hook. Very expensive but we have had 2 excellent experiences there. Great service and outstanding wine list. Nice addition to the North Hills food scene and honestly a destination for those outside the area. Very easy to get to from 79 North.

We only walked through the bar area but that also looks very nice with their own small scale menu. Also an attached cigar bar.

Highly recommend.

Great to hear. I will definitely check it out when I come down to Pittsburgh the next time. Just curious as to what you ordered and was it cooked to your liking? Nothing like great food, a great wine and a good cigar.

I have to admit, a bit of a classic.

Nothing better than starting a meal off with a nice martini, having a great steak and a big red wine. And finishing with a cigar and maybe a nice bourbon or scotch.

Here's the menu:

I'm not a big fan of red meat (lol), but this last visit I had the small filet and 3 piece Mibrasa Roasted scallops on the side. Also the Caesar salad with poached egg is FANTASTIC. I'd go back just for that. Others at the table had a rib eye, strip steak and prime rib. All cooked perfectly.

They have an in house pastry chef. We finished with a special lemon sorbet over lemon pound cake, drizzled with a blueberry reduction. Magnifique.

Is this in the old Atrias and Didkas?

Napa Prime is across the divided highway from Lexus and Volvo. It’s behind the 1000 beer place and the restaurant that only serves bacon.

If you don’t like the steak you can leave and walk a few feet to get some bacon.

Not to be a downer here, but we ate there last Friday night and the meal was just so-so. To start, we felt rushed by the wait staff. We barely had time to sit down, settle in, and have some dinner conversation when the waiter was badgering us to go over the menu I splurged for the 35-day dry aged strip. It was so charred on the outside I couldn't taste what should have been succulent prime beef. The brussel sprouts were so salty, they were inedible. I sent the steak and the brussel sprouts back to have them re-prepared. They don't have a cocktail list. My buddies Whistlepig old fashioned and my High West Rye Manhattan were pretty lame. I don't think the bartender had a clue.

On the positive side, My wife's filet was good. The mushrooms were fantastic, and the bone marrow appetizer was a bouquet of flavors melting in your mouth. The atmosphere was nice.

I had high hopes, but Napa Prime fell short for me. If I'm gonna drop over $200 on a meal, I don't want to have to complain and send things back.

I will give it another go since it's so close to me and it beats driving downtown, but If the experience isn't better, I'll be sticking with Ruths' and Capital Grill in town for my Prime Steakhouse experiences.

.

I never thought I would see the phrases “drizzled with a blueberry reduction” and “a bouquet of flavors melting in your mouth” on a football message board. I mean, if you said that to Jack Lambert, he would knock you cold. Of course, if you said anything to Jack Lambert, there’s a 50/50 chance he would knock you cold.

I like that you can pick out your steak. We’ve all had excellent meals, and the kids love the rolls and peanuts. The wait staff was real friendly as well.
We were there once and it was good. We need to remember to return - so funny how (at least for us), we always seem to go to the same places even though we're always happy to try out others.

This thread went into a direction I didn't think it would. Texas Roadhouse? Really?

It's my favorite "chain steakhouse" in the north hills. The Outback on McKnight was probably the worst dinner experience we've had in our life. How any place could be as bad as they are is beyond me.
