A 1 loss American Athletic champion is getting the G5 bid over Toledo. No doubt.

If Navy wins at Houston on Black Friday and beats Temple in the American Athletc Championship game, they are in. Can you imagine?

Keenan Reynolds is probably the best Navy player I've seen in my lifetime. He's a sure-fire NFL player, probably as a slot WR but has a 4 year service agreement.

I think it would be beyond awesome to see Navy in a NY6 bowl.

My love for Navy is second only to Pitt. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see the Midshipmen beating both Houston and Temple. That would be huge for Navy....

Agree. Not a bad Navy team, but I can't see them competing with Houston and Temple who are by far the two best teams in that conference and actually would make a little bit of noise in other conferences too. I think that's especially true with Houston. Their head coach has a track record at Ohio State of coaching some really good offenses. He's gonna make Houston a real force and probably beat almost every other G5 team out there while he's the coach. They have a very, very good offense.

Its hard to imagine him staying at Houston with all these openings. He's another Urban disciple that wins like crazy.

Id also like to point out that ND took care of Navy pretty handily. ND will be in the playoff if they take care of Stanford.

I want Navy in the ACC in all sports and ND to in football. Then, realign the divisions.

New Coastal...
Pitt
Notre Dame
Navy
Georgia Tech
Syracuse
Virginia Tech
Miami
Boston College

New Atlantic...
FSU
Clemson
Louisville
UNC
Duke
Wake
Virginia
NCSU

I like it, but I also consider basketball when thinking of things like this, so I really want UConn in the ACC also.

If ND ever joined the ACC, they would likely pick who comes with them as part of the barter. They would choose Navy since they play them every year anyway. Navy would join for football only.

ND could still play:

USC
Stanford
MSU/Purdue
Shamrock Series

As much as I hate to admit it, Navy in the AAC championship game (which, by the way, Temple has not yet clinched a berth in) would be our worst nightmare. We demonstrated in last year's game against them that we cannot defend their offense. (We managed to recover a fumbled pitch for a TD on Navy's first possession, but that proved to be merely a false sense of security, because for the remainder of the game they methodically marched down the field, 5, 6, 7 yards a clip.)

Memphis is a club that also gives me concern (we should have beaten them last year, but let that game slip away). Their offense (last night notwithstanding) actually looks better this year.

Navy is LEGIT

They seriously may be the best team ND has beaten this year, and that's not an insult to Pitt, Temple, USC or anyone else we've played. Those are all good teams

But with Reynolds, Navy is just really good

Navy in the ACC would be competitive suicide.

What would happen I think is that there would be a Navy/Georgetown combo joining with ND. Navy of course would not play basketball and Georgetown would not play football. They both could play whatever other sports that they compete in. A Navy/Georgetown combo would help compete with the BIG10/Maryland in the D.C. television market.

You're entitled to your own opinion but mine is that that is absolutely crazy. Pitt, Temple, and USC (post Sarkisian) are all better teams. Navy is good, but they run an offense that is tough to defend basically because it makes your players look better than they are. Look at Oregon last year. They looked like the greatest team of all time. Get to the playoffs and play a great team and they get absolutely murdered. The triple options are hard to defend, but that and especially the spread offenses are designed to close the talent gap between you and your opponent.

Tough debate though, Notre Dame is much better than most everyone they've played so I don't think there's a way to prove this for sure.

Those teams, along with Texas and Gergia Tech, are all more talented than Navy

However, given Navy's experience, toughness, scheme, and overall team cohesion....I think they're hardest team we've played so far

They would have a good shot at beating any of the teams mentioned above on a neutral field
