I dunno if QBs then would fare well now, maybe they'd chaff at having all the plays called for em and the analytics and the tablets and coaches in their headsets etc
Sure the QB had less responsibility, usually they passed like 30% of the time, and the two RBs might both have over 200 carries in a season. I remember watching the replay of Super Bowl X and the announcer calling the Cowboys "gunslingers" because they "took the huge risk" of passing on first down. LOLI discuss this a lot. In this era of big stats, pass friendly, QB oriented offenses, you have less teams with decent QB's than you did in say 1978 when it was still a basic 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 RB pro set offenses.
