OT: Pirates broadcaster Bob Walk's run in w/ COVID

Me too. But I’ve been curbside exclusively and no haircuts. Buzzed my own. Haven’t been within 6 feet of anyone other than a quick pass by. Hell when hand sanitizer was hard to come by I took a bar of soap and water in my car with me.
I haven't been quite like that.

This weekend it really hit me. I needed to get out. But there was nowhere to go. It is really, really depressing

I have someone in my care so I am diligent. I just have to be. And it isn’t easy. More than depressing I fight anger at times. But yea, I understand it all.

I’ve been able to do a couple things outdoors but even then if it’s crowded I’m out.

When I hear people in their 60s....that took a lot of precautions...I wonder who within the family they were around.

I believe he has a few kids - not sure about grandkids. But if they had family events around the 4th, that would be more likely than in a store since that is where the precautions would be less.

I’m going to give an analogy. It might be a poor one, but it’s somewhat relevant. It’s like the way we used to look at HIV. If you were going to sleep with someone unprotected, you kind of committed to also being exposed to everyone they were with...and everyone they were with, etc,

I know this is totally different. I know we are talking about just being around someone, and not sleeping with them. But the similarity is that it only takes one person in a closer circle (to whom you aren’t distancing) to potentially create a link to their riskier actions. And that sucks if you have otherwise been really careful,

The problem with this damned disease is that it can be spread by people who have no symptoms - and might not ever have symptoms.

I was employed in medical/correctional facilities for over 35 years, and the advice that was given to me then still holds true today: always use universal precautions. You should assume that everyone could be carrying the virus, so act accordingly.

I'm having some home remodeling done that I scheduled way before this started and now am not feeling too comfortable having contractors walking throughout the house. Feel like I should temperature check them every morning before entering, lol.
