Pitt might be it for historic Oakland club
A prominent Oakland landmark may soon fall into the hands of an even bigger name neighbor.
According to multiple real estate sources, the University of Pittsburgh is in talks to buy the Twentieth Century Club building located at 4201 Bigelow Blvd. within the heart of the Pitt campus.
The acquisition would make sense for Pitt. The building is located a block from the Cathedral of Learning and is surrounded by other university facilities.
It also is about a block from the Pittsburgh Athletic Association clubhouse, where Pitt is taking 30,199 square feet of office space as part of a $25 million rehab being done by Shadyside developer Walnut Capital.
