For those of you who know or care, Pitt has a club ultimate frisbee team and they’re very good. They’ve been on ESPN multiple times throughout the past few years in USA Ultimate championships.

This week, Pitt’s Michael Ing was named the 2020 Callahan Award winner, which goes to the best ultimate frisbee player in the nation for that particular season. Congrats to him.

This is Pitt's second "Heisman Trophy" for Ultimate. Pitt's Trent Dillon won in 2016.

Pitt won back-to-back collegiate national championships in 2012 and 2013 and finished as runner up in 2018, has won three eastern championships, 7 regional titles, and 15 consecutive conference titles. They have been annual participants in the national championships since 2005, which means they've finished the regular season ranked in the national top 20 for 15 consecutive seasons, and have placed in the top five 12 times at the national championships.

They recruit, award some partial scholarships (they have their own private endowment fund housed in the Pittsburgh Foundation to fund some scholarship money), have a paid coaching staff, have a B-team that serves as a JV, and have had multiple players that have gone on to play professionally (yes, there is professional Ultimate). They're the real deal. The women's team isn't bad either.
