Shared this on the "Field House"....Beyond Football. It's great to see the other programs like Basketball and Wrestling on the rise. Even though it was the first team defeat of the season against perennial power OKL ST. # 3 in nation. My hats of to Coach Gavin and his staff. Pitt is building something special in Wrestling. This is Wrestling Country right here in WPA. and in the not so distant future a top 10 powerhouse program is within reach. I know Football and Men's Basketball are the money sports with obviously the greatest attention...Rightly so. Hope many start checking out this wrestling team as it will boost the overall image of the Pitt athletic depth. The Field House was 85% Full and loud. Pitt Wrestling is coming back, lets keep supporting.

"Excellent crowd. Lots good matches against a very talented Okl State team. Micky's match was worth the price of admission. Two great wrestlers competing at the highest level. Fix(#2) is an absolute beast and Micky was well prepared and has now positioned himself in the elite class at a very tough 133. The crowd reaction after the victory was incredible. Field house erupted!! Pitt overall is just not at a "team" level to compete with the #3 squad in Country, but it's not due to coaching. Gavin and his staff are doing a terrific job. Kids wrestle hard and are well prepared. Meech, wrestled the #2 Heavyweight and pressed him the whole match, which was a testimony to the tenacity and conditioning. Meech definitely has the look of someone that can All-American if he just keeps working and peaking in March.
As the staff continues to recruit and develop the future looks really bright and promising. Pitt is on the verge of doing some big things. Just got to keep the local talent home and Keith and Jordan should be able to do that. Keep supporting these guys as they are some of the best, brightest, and humble athletes that will ever step on the campus at Pitt. I can't wait to see the day when the attendance is sell outs and that time is coming".
