Toast after this year …lost to the last place team to move Pitt girls into last place in ACC..he is not the answer get someone who can coach a team …the worst.

Whether he's "toast"
or not remains to be
seen. As far as his not
being the "answer, We'
have been posting that
on here for the past
few seasons.

WF is not a strong
ACC team. They are
obviously better than
Pitt. This was one of
the few in conference
games I felt we MAYBE
had a chance for an
upset.

I say this for every Lance White post. Its a non-revenue sport. Hopefully they let him coach out his contract. Big waste of money to be paying 2 women's head coaches at the same time

He must have a hell
of a good contract
for a previous assist.
coach. He's in his 5th
year. Do you have any
info on length of his
contract?

Yeah he really sucks. I would love to go to one of their “chalk talk” in the club before a game… because as much as we bust in Capel for not having a system or structure…. white literally has no system or structure.

Pitt basketball hasn’t been in this good of spot since mid way through Dixons tenure. We are a competitive team with 3 good young bigs and a really good class coming in. Carrington will be a top, all conference type player. And Dior might come back.
Holy cow.....you serious Clark? We have a guy who for 5 yesrs....that's over 160 games....has shown zero ability to coach on GameDay, and has never held a roster together. Maybe let's get past Jeff's annual collapse point unscathed before we make these claims. Let's get that class on campus without arrests and transfers before we make claims like this. Unreal

SMS got five years, that's what White is going to get as well.
That makes sense. Of
course SMF posted that
"a 6 year contract would
seem reasonable for a
new hire." Reasonable??
Consider the source.;)

I can't believe Pitt would
give that lenngth of a
contract for this guy.
On top of that, a big
buyout for this same
untested assistant? I
gotta believe they could
let him go this year
without big $$$. If not
his agent took Pitt to
the proverbial woodshed.

He seemed like a good hire at the time.

It is always a crapshoot.

You are under no obligation to agree with me.

This thread has evolved
into a White and Capel
discussion. While I don't
believe it's ALWAYS a
crapshoot, Pitt did take
a chance on Capel. On the
other hand he did have
head coaching experience
and was seen as a very
successful assistant at
Duke.

White on the other hand
was a total guess. He did
not have any head coaching
experience. Compared to
White, Capel is almost like a
John Wooden. What they
really have in common
besides losing, is their
contracts could/should be
in jeopardy this year.

Yes, he hadn't been a HC, but he had a LOT of experience in two really good programs.
HCPN didn't have HC experience, either.

True, but HCPN had total
control of the defense as
a defensive co ordinator.
He was successful at a
number of programs.
Hiring White was a total
guess on Pitt's part. I've
listened to both of them
now for several years.
It's obvious to me that
HCPN has a football pedigree.
I can't say the same about
White. It's clear as day
that HCPN is a football guy.
White?...Again I can't say
that about him. Last year it
was "wait until you see
Rita this year." Wow, was
that ever wrong. This
year, there were comments
about it being our best
year yet, experience and
recruits, etc. This from a
coach who is 8-60 in
the ACC, 0-2 so far this
year, and no wins in sight
for the remainder. Looks
like 8-80.

Obviously he has been a big miss.
