Why did Ganim never look into the Second Mile, a candy store for fat-cat donor pedophiles of Pennsylvania? Who was she protecting? Sure, the PSU football program did not do all they should have or could have, but what prevented her from tearing the lid off the Second Mile? It was run by a child psychiatrist for Gods sake, and he's has never been held accountable. If a team of child psychiatrists turned a blind eye to Sandusky and his cronies, that is a huge story that some journalist should be licking their chops to tell.

The Better question is why did Penn State promote The Second Mile and Honor Sandusky as Professor Emeritus with Mural Honors that sat in the Penn State President Luxury Box in silence even after the 1998 Investigation, 1999 Retirement, and 2002 Reporting By McQueary & Paterno???

Ol' Cap is onto something here. Why was Sandusky a guest of honor in Spanier's box for Joe's 409th (redacted) win?? This coming one week before it all broke out, so obviously well after the GJ investigations. Why?

This is like lots of things that happen and it will cast a shadow on frats and sororities who both follow the same model for the pledge process and for 99% of the pledge classes nothing goes wrong.


IMO this comes down to bad character.

If part of the "pledge process" is FORCING pledges to consume alcohol --- the "pledge process" definitely needs a full-scale restructuring. Even if in 99.999% of cases we don't have incidents like this.

Much of this is bad character as regards the Beta brothers. Their behavior was truly barbaric.

But a part of this is the University and the National organizations having an ABSOLUTE ZERO tolerance policy as regards forcing folks to consume alcohol. It's 2017 and we still haven't figured that out?!?!?!?

Quite agree, Spanier had many signs something was wrong and Spanier claims to be an Abused Child himself and has a PH.D in Family Sociology but chose to remain Silence instead of using his So-Called Smarts and wonder why his many professional convictions ended letting down with his Criminal Conviction.

Additionally, President Barron is doing the same thing right now.....Barron is Blaming Alcohol for Penn State Plazza Death in spite of Penn State prior Silence doing nothing?

It is PSU Grads like you and many more why I respect Penn State and I know you get harassed on the BWI for speaking your mind. Not staying silent even when being called names is what true character and true success with honor is all about and that is how to be truly loyal to one's Alma Mater, by making it better.

Jay Paterno proudly and boastfully said he ran for PSU Trustees Board because it is about the Future....but In Hindsight if one ignores the past and present, mistakes will continue to haunt Penn State Nittany Lion Pride.

you know there is zero chance any of these guys spends one day in jail. sympathetic judge is going to see a bunch of 20 - 21 year olds, feel bad and give them probation and community service. they'll have to go to a couple high schools and speak about the dangers of underage drinking and it will be over.

Dsagree. Only because there is video of the entire event. I compare it to Ray Rice. If the story had come out that he punched his girlfriend, he'd still be in the NFL. But what happened is there was VIDEO of him punching his girlfriend. 100% different.

I do think the defense lawyers have a lot to decide. Go to the DA and make some kind of deal which most likely will include jail time or roll the dice that you can get 1 member of the jury to sympathize with the kid on trial. Again, with the video, it's going to be a uphill battle keeping them out of jail.

Normally that would just be snide sarcasm but in this case something like it ... an old Nit fart who lived much like those frat guys at PSU, drinking like pigs and screwing over people, who will be outraged (because, you know, WITCH HUNT) and come to their rescue ... is very likely.

And the favors will include any judge or members of juries that have gone there (or simply love their football team), which like cockroaches seem everywhere. They'll see a trim and spiffy Nit Boy in court, acting "contrite" and think "that could be Jopa's great grandson" and gleefully let him off.
