First off this was one of best matches I’ve ever seen. 0-0 and 11-10 in PKs. Liverpool wins.
why was a 0-0 match so good? Chelsea scored 3 goals, but all were offside. Liverpool scored a goal that was waved off by VAR, and then Chelsea had 3 point blank chances that they didn’t score on, while Liverpool had 1 point blank chance that they didn’t score on. In the PKS, every field player scored and it came down to the 2 goalkeepers. Liverpools keeper made his, but Chelsea’s keeper piked his.
now the 3 point blank chances that Chelsea should have been scored, Pulisic was involved in all 3.
Here’s the first. He made a great run but didn’t finish. Should have picked a corner but it seems he was concentrating on making good contact. Decent keeper save but CP should have done a bit better.
Here’s the 2nd, Pulisic made a great run through the middle but Mason Mount failed with the final ball.
and the 3rd, where Pulisic assisted to Mount, and Mount blew this finish.
