Obviously, my favorite teams would take precedence (Pitt, Steelers, Pens), so I'll just go by the league.

1) NFL
2) NCAAF
3) NCAAB
4) Hockey
5) Golf
6) MMA
7) Boxing
8) MLB

MLB is about ready to go the way of the NBA for me. I've watched more Rugby and Australian football in the last year than MLB.

World Cup Soccer and the Olympics jump up into the top 3 for me whenever they are on.

I think it depends if my team is playing or not. Some sports I'll still watch generally (like playoffs) even if my team is out.

My team in
1. Pitt FB
2. Pitt Basketball
3. NFL - Eagles
4. NHL - Flyers
- big drop -
5. MLB - Phillies
6. NBA - Sixers/San Antonio

My teams out
1. NFL
- big drop -
2. NCAAF
3. NCAAB
- 2nd big drop -
4. MLB
5. NBA
6. NHL

1) Pitt Football
2) Steelers
3) College Football
4) Penguins
5) Pitt basketball
6) NFL Football
7) Pirates

Everything else I will pass and instead watch an old western or do yard work…

In the 1990,s and before, NBA, tennis and boxing would have made the list, but not anymore…

1. NCAAF (Pitt)
2. NCAAB (Pitt)
3. NFL (Steelers)
4. MLB (Pirates)
5. NBA (No team)
6. NHL (Penguins)

I'll never understand the NBA hate in Pittsburgh. It's a vastly superior product to the NHL, where league executives seem to be against any change in gameplay that would make the sport more accessible to casual fans.

1. NFL
2. NCAAF
3. NHL
4. NCAAB (though I'm slowly drifting to conference tournaments and March Madness only)
5. Tennis
6. MLB
7. Golf (Majors jump MLB)
8. NBA (I only watch the playoffs)

NFL and NCAAF are so far ahead of any of the other sports I like to watch. It really doesn't matter who's playing, I'm parking myself in front of the TV to watch Red Zone on Sundays and find the best college games on Saturdays.

The other seasons are simply too long and feel, to a certain extent, meaningless. My NHL and NCAAB viewing habits are slowly drifting towards playoffs/tournaments only. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting there. A great tennis match involving Federer/Jokovic/Nadal would move to No. 3 and golf majors jump MLB as well. I just can't get into the NBA and only tune into some playoff games.

I watch only NHL games involving the Pens, Does a November game or a Pitt hoops game vs. an America East team in December have "meaning"? Of course it does! TV ENTERTAINMENT for that night is all the meaning it needs.

1: NBA

2: NFL
3: Pitt basketball
4: Pitt football
5: Pens
6: Non-Pitt college football/basketball
7: Golf
8: MLB

That's it really. I don't watch college sports regularly if Pitt isn't playing. Same for the NHL and the Pens.

1. NFL - The only sport (outside of March Madness) where I'll watch a game not featuring my favorite team (Packers)
2. Pitt football
3. Pitt Basketball
4. Pens
5. Pirates - Will probably surpass Pens when they win again. Can't take time to watch a terrible team much
6. March Madness
7. Tennis - I'll watch Wimbledon or the US Open. Brings me back to my youth watching guys like Becker and Agassi. Not the same as it used to be though.
8. NBA - Don't have a team like I did when I was a kid in the 80s & 90s. Hard to compete with that era.
9. NASCAR - Have to be in the mood but I'll probably watch 3-4 races a year.

My interest in sports has taken a big dip in recent years though. Partially due to having young kids.

How my sports viewing habits have changed over the years...

Pens and College Football have always been at the top. College Hoops has been a major drop. Of course Pitt has somethign to do with this and so does not being in the Big East, but the sport itself, the constant one and dones, you don't identify as much. I have really gone up on International soccer. I love the passion and the emotion. The NFL is the NFL, the behemoth of sports in this country is what it is.
The NBA suffers from a lack of a consistent local recruiting interest throughout my life.

But the two that has dropped is baseball. I don't know what they did to this sport, but it is too long, too contrived, too boring, and the gap between haves and have nots continues to grow.

The biggest drops are Tennis and Boxing. Boxing doesn't even exist in my stratosphere anymore......it is a joke and a clown show. But Tennis, no longer on my radar and I used to love the majors both men and women. I don't watch a minute of this anymore.

1. NFL
2. Golf
3. Pitt football
4. Anything I have a bet on (usually on the above)
5. Pitt basketball
6. Anything else
