So he wrote an article in the PPG today that the pirates should be ashamed for wanting Jung Ho Kang back.

While I'm not sure exactly where I stand on the matter, and don't think his opinion is wrong, I find his hypocrisy disgusting.

Ron of course wrote the article a week after the PSU scandal broke telling us all to move on. He has written gushing articles about James Harrison who has been accused of domestic violence. I don't remember articles like this with roethlisberher. I also found an article about how people needed to move on from Michael vick's past.

What a joke. At least be consistent one way or the other and don't flip flop based on the guy you are talking about.

Idiots like you are only helping him by clicking on his articles or buying the PG.

He like all local media are not allowed to be critical of PSU or the Steelers. Both have proven they WILL have critical media fired or black listed.

And only so much critique of the Penguins (and never hallowed ownership or stars...but the generic noname coaches are fair game, as they'll be gone every 2 years).

The Pirates stink again, so they're back to being OK to dump on. Hence the Kang rip.

If it were a Steeler, Cook would rip Goodell for suspending him.

Of course Pitt always is easy to rip. To an extent it will always get nailed because there are so many PSU (and PSU wannabes) in the media. But Pitt makes it easy on itself with its internal blunders.

How exactly does this benefit Cook and the PG? My clicks here benefit the Pantherlair.
How does dispelling something before it is read benefit anyone?...Sounds like you would fit right in with the current crop of campus "tolerance" warriors promoting speech by shutting it down. ...

I was going to post on this. The proper thing for the Bucs to do right now is nothing. Kang is on the restricted list. He is not getting paid. Let the Korean system play out. Then if the US grants him a visa fine. If not it is all on Kang for screwing up. Cook of all people should not be throwing people under the bus on moral issue after the way he fellated and apologized for the Nits.

I understand Ron Cook and The PG's biased agenda against Pitt. They do not exist to me. I contacted them directly and some of their sponsors awhile ago, and told them why I stopped buying their paper and will not use their online service either. When they call me to renew- I tell them the same thing. Not complicated.

This is easy.

See, the Pirates aren't going to win anything with or without Kang this year. So taking the "moral high ground" is pretty easy. If Kang were the only missing piece of an otherwise playoff destined club, this article never gets written.

There's also some truth to the notion that Cook is selectively hypocritical. That's pretty well documented.

You had Nutting with "He's not getting paid" ;)

Kevin Gorman wrote the same article yesterday in the trib however both are forgetting a key issue MLBPA even if the pirates wanted to release Kang they couldn't because he hasn't gone through all of the steps from a union standpoint. Kang may not understand the players agreement his agent sure as hell does.

So add plagerism to Cooks list of transgressions.

To be fair, I thought the only redeeming value of Cook's career was the article he wrote encouraging PSU to tear down Paterno's statue. Granted, he wrote under his normal insane bias slants in most subsequent articles, but I had to applaud him that ONE time when many PSU cultist were at their peak in defending JoPa.

He has to first gain entry in the US.
Hopefully, the State Department continues to deny him an entry visa.
Maybe the millionaire's baseball players union can get him a visa to Cuba where he can ball for the Castro family.

True but Kang could be the difference between the team being above .500, thus staying in the wildcard conversation until september, and them being below .500 and out of it by June. That means millions of dollars of lost revenue.

If jung ho kang ever steps onto the diamond again it will be a special moment. The healing process will begin for a man that clearly had alcohol problems. Not really, but if cook had such a hard on for anything in Pittsburgh like he did for paterno's psu program, that would be the equivalent of his psu healing article.

If kang never plays again, he has nobody to blame but himself. If he comes back, why on earth would the pirates not take him back? His hypocracy is absolutely comical. Now he really wants to play the morality card? What's disgusting is Ron Cook's opinion about anything. What a total schmuck.

So being "accused" of something is a reason to be shunned by society.

Give us more of your moral superiority.

Good point. Pittsburgh fans don't seem to mind table scraps when it comes to baseball.
The years of losing has lowered expectations to the point that if they can be in the wild card hunt(within 3 or 4 games which means .500) they will keep fans interested. Imagine if the steelers could go 9-7 and people would be happy or Pitt 7-5.

Lol. Mike Vick was simply "accused" of something? How about the folks at PSU?

So he killed a few dogs? He did 2+ years in prison, that's plenty of jail time for killing a few dogs. And I love animals, I have 2 cats. Love cats, they can take care of themselves, they aren't needy like dogs.

he has been accused of DUI at least 3 times and accused of rape

how many more times does he have to be accused of a crime before you finally think to yourself "gee i don't think he's a good guy?"
