OT sad news

Tough too think he's gone. What a legend. What a great guy.

I always thought it was pretty cool that he often caddied for my great uncle at Latrobe Country Club when he was a boy. My uncle, also an avid golfer and member of LCC for many years, knew him pretty well too. He said hanging out with Arnie was just like hanging out with another one of the guys. He never acted like he was above anyone. Fun, gracious and incredibly friendly.

It feels a bit strange that I finally made it to Pebble Beach (for the first time) a few weeks ago and I found myself fixated on an Arnie piece that hung on the wall just out side of the Tap Room at the Lodge.

Rest in Peace Arnie.

Playing in a biz outing at Latrobe a while back.....our group had fallen back a bit (hackers), and a twosome in a cart comes from nowhere, asks if they could play through. 4 jaws drop, all I could say was: "It's your place, Arnold, go right ahead" Got that famous grin and a thank you. All class, all the time. Never can be replaced.
