Does anybody know what the new condos being built in Station Square are going to be called? They are going up on the parking lot right next to the RR tracks/river. On the other side of the tunnel from the Grand Concourse. There aren't any signs identifying them. Thanks.

Went the same way as Matrix. Lol Trying to recall the names of some of the bars over there over the years. Woodson’s later was a Mexican themed place.

There was a hooters there and a pretty good country bar as well. Can't remember the name though

Oh, yeah. Was at that Hooters a few times, once on Halloween after a Steelers game. That was a fun time. Think the country bar was in the middle of that group of places.

I was at the country bar and I saw palko and Ben hanging together.

Didn’t we have a linebacker who got arrested outside one of these bars? He ran from cops and tripped on a fence? Adam Gunn I think.

The country bar was Cadillac ranch.

In between all of the failed bars/restaurants, it was a retail overstock type of clothing store called Filenes Basement

It is mystifying that it took so long to realize housing on that site made the most sense.

It did have a pretty long, successful run, though. Haven’t been in the main portion in awhile but the last time I was it was looking half-deserted.

There was a Canadian chain bar in there for a little bit too. High rent and having to pay to park isn’t a winning combination for a bar in Pittsburgh.

Country bar was Saddle Ridge. Cadillac Ranch was out in Robinson Twp.

First page calls the complex Glassworks, but, box in the pdf calls condos Glasshouse

The office buildings behind them are named glassworks, fireworks, and bottleworks in the rendering. Plus a hotel at the corner of Carson and Smithfield.

Station Square mall is closed up. UPMC is moving into the space that used to be occupied by the cafeteria, Melting Pot, Houlihan's, etc.

Station Square has Kiku, Harry's bar, Buckheads, a souvenir shop, and the Ducky tour store. It's a joke. They haven't been able to draw any restaurants despite wanting to have 5-7 new ones prior to the apartments getting completed.

That’s a shame, I didn’t know that. Used to like it down there.

The country bar was Saddle Ridge. Cadillac Ranch is at Settlers point

Bar Louie is gone. Restaurants now are Grand Concourse (gone downhill), Texas de Brazil, Bucca Di Beppo, Hard Rock Café, and the Sheraton Hotel. Station Square is devolving into Atlanta Underground. Once was "THE" place to go. Now not so much. The South Side development up near Cheescake Factory really hurt Station Square. The new condos and hotel should help reinvigorate the area.

Grand Concourse brunch is still incredible. I don't think it's fallen off too badly.

The Texas de Brazil clock is probably ticking considering Fogo is better and just across the river. I have no clue how Joe's stays open.

The construction down here is happening...I'm guessing once the first new restaurant gets on board, others will follow.

I always had a warm spot for station square. I hope it can stay or get back to a nice little place to visit on weekends..

Southside works isn't doing much better. Claddaugh just closed. Cheesecake factory is the only thing with much of a pulse there.

I thought Melting Pot was still there but relocated to Bessemer court from the freight house shops?

yeah it was great in the heyday since you had decent parking and much of bars/shops were indoors which was nice in the winter. Tequila Junction one of the first and few Mexican places in the city before they became ubiquitous. I remember watching much of the Pens first Stanley cup run at the huge sport bar.

I guess the Freight house shops as a entertainment/tourist destination is pretty much dead.

What was the name of the place in the mall that sold ribs?

Yeah, it's across the street next to Texas de Brazil. They must do decent business since they could have gotten out of the lease for cheap but instead are occupying a new space.

Bar Louie was a really nice bar down here. The food was fine and the drinks were cheap for a chain type. Buckheads is such trash compared to Bar Louie.

those bars down there on north shore drive are so blah, same thing its ridiculous. bar louie, Jerome bettis bar, if you are inside one, can you even differentiate the two. the foundry next to it, tequila whatever, southern tier, I mean different layouts but all same thing and they just completely over saturated that area with boring cookie cutter bars..
