Just got back from the theater (Cinemark Mccandless). We felt very safe and comfortable being there but I'll address that after my review. It was glorious to be at the movies again.
The film is classic Christopher Nolan and we loved it even while not completely understanding it - LOL. I can't share much without giving it away but it's centered around time. The acting was top notch. And the action was ridiculous - literally the entire movie was suspenseful. It clocked in at 2.5 hours but at no point did it drag for us. If you can, I highly recommend seeing in an XD theater - it's loud and jumping. My only critique is that there are a lot of foreign accents and I would have loved subtitles. You're concentrating on a very complex plot and it was hard to follow along with some of the dialogue. But that's it. I wasn't really a Robert Pattinson fan prior, but I now eagerly await his take on the Batman. As I said all the actors did a terrific job.
I don't want to say anymore for those who are going to see it, but we all had the same question while we were leaving. Maybe after more see it here I can ask.
Regarding Covid and movie theaters, I know someone who was involved in the development of their safety protocols ahead of time. When you reserve a seat (or bank of seats) it automatically crosses off 2 seats on either side. There is already 6 feet between the rows. Obviously like everywhere else you have to wear a mask, but are allowed to remove when you're seated to have a drink or snack. They do have some of their concessions open. In between each showing they come in with a giant tank that sprays down every seat, tray, etc. They then follow that with disposable towels to wipe them off. There are plastic safety shields between all the cashiers and those collecting tickets. You cannot use cash. They encourage everyone to utilize the sanitizing foam at the entrance which we did. And they also ask that everyone throw their own garbage away (the fact that there are people who don't do that even in normal times blows my mind). The bathrooms are cleaned/sanitized every 30 minutes.
Anyways my grade: Solid A. I just need to see it again lol.
