I actually have driven into a gas station in a rental car and then wasn’t able to find the gas tank. Had to open the owner’s manual to find out where it was.

Never had it happen again. If I didn’t see it quickly, I would ask the car rental agent.

the first time i filled up my audi i had to google it. there is no button inside the car or little tip on the outside. you just push the gas tank in and it pops out. i never would've guessed it in a million years.

In addition to the gas gauge having an arrow to point to the side of the car that the filler cap is on, any car with only one exhaust pipe will have it routed to the opposite side of the gas tank filler cap is on.
