They get mad when he says this.
His wins and losses are up there in history with the greatest ever.

Coach speak gets old. I always loved the Steelers of the early 2000s because they held nothing back when speaking to the media about the Ravens. Everyone knows what the expectations are. No reason to hide it.
not nearly as cool and ballsy as guaranteeing victory against the #2 team in the country when up by only 3 to a halftime chick.
He is, again, giving a team that doesnt need it more bulletin board material. Pittsburgh let a rookie qb make them look stupid last night and he is going to run his mouth regarding winning the Super Bowl? Which would go through Brady, who has more ownership of the Steelers than the Rooney family does.

All coaches do "coach speak" and I dont really care. They do it for a reason. No reason to give extra motivation to your opponent if you dont have to.
Bulletin board material doesn’t work in the Nfl. But if it did he would be giving his team as much as he was giving New England.
Moreover, do you think New England needs added incentive then the number 1 seed and home field advantage? Crazy
The game will determine home field most likely. NE doesn’t need bulletin board material.
This isn’t 8th grade. Extra motivation is a fantasy in the NFL

Baloney. Pitt did not give Miami bulletin board material and were able to sneak up on Miami, who probably were looking ahead to Clemson. Why don't you ask former players if bulletin board material gives them extra motivation?

Not true at all, not just in the NFL but any sport. That is why you don't see much bulletin board material given to the media anymore. They tell the reporters one thing and talk a different language off camera.
There is no universe in which Pitt-Miami is comparable to Pittsburgh-NE.

how many times do you hear star players, before a game, tell the media that they are going to beat the living crap out of said team? Rub their faces in the dirt? Show the world that they are the inferior team?

There is a reason for that.
There is no reason for Pittsburgh to have confidence against New England. Especially after what we saw last night. Talking in the media wont help them stop Brady. Getting Joe Haden would have helped, but now he is hurt. So their secondary is back to being the joke that they were last season.
Why? Miami has dominated Pitt like New England has dominated the Steelers. I am sure the Patriots are getting a big chuckle off of Tomlin's prediction.
