OT: Unbelievable, Steelers want to re-sign Russell Wilson and give him $100 million

By the way. I’d also can Austin. The Steelers D is so freaking vanilla. It’s pretty much relying on Watt and Highsmith to put pressure on the Qb. They rarely run stunts or blitzes

I’m talking BPA all draft. I agree not taking a RB 1st round because of the value (and assuming they tender Warren). But they will (and should) probably take a back at some point. Too many Steeler fans are still fixated on Terrell Edmunds in the first when they think safety. Edmunds pick was exactly the opposite of BPA. He was an overdraft. If you have a Minkah type player there at 21 you take a safety.
We all know they're going to lean into the defense in the draft and they'll probably reach for someone at 21 who is more of a legit 2nd rounder. I'll be honest, the best #1 move for this team is to trade back and hoard draft picks.

Seriously this organization is beyond repair at this point. Art Rooney isn't even the owner imo it's Mike Tomlin.

What a joke

They are just realizing that the "market" was light on QBs. Lol. Ok, let's compound our bad decisions by making an even worse one with the Russ Wilson stupidity tax.

Ladies and gentlemen, here are your Pittsburgh Browns.

I guess it depends on who is available when they draft. If a guy like Warren is available you take him but I doubt he will be

I actually think Russ would crush it in the right system - like behind a Philly offensive line, for instance. He still makes some big league throws and has decent command.

Problem is, this offense is absolutely broken. We would need a Josh Allen type to carry it on his back, and obviously that isn't happening. Russ behind this offensive line is just a waste of everyone's time. He's way too slow in the pocket.

Also, we need to take a receiver at #1 - no ifs, ands, or buts. Our guys are covered like blankets way too often. We also need a CB, DT, RB, etc.... but you simply cannot wait until round 2 for this. Our receivers are so bad, man.

It’s clear he’s way overmatched as a coordinator .
Should maybe a position coach

Luther Burden is going to get a lot of attention as a possible Steelers #1 pick. Numbers were down this year but Missouri’s offense in general and QB position in particular were both a mess.

steelers need a WR bad but man oh man are we bad at drafting them. We seem to magically find the biggest head-case WR in the draft.

maybe hkan the accountant changes that.

Recent ones that I can remember (aside from low round guys who never amounted to much)...

Hits: Antonio Brown, Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders, I guess Ju-Ju

Hits, but with a caveat: Georgia Pickens, Martavius Bryant... AB has a caveat, but he's such a hit that he still goes in the category above

Meh: Markus Wheaton, Diontae Johnson, Calvin Austin

Busts: Limus Sweed, probably Roman Wilson, James Washington, Claypool, Dri Archer, Sammy Coates

We all know Diontae’s fall from grace this year but otherwise I’d call him a hit. If anything, a hit but with caveats.

Calvin Austin is a meh so far but I thought he actually took steps forward this year. He could never be a plus #2 because of his size but I think he’s progressing nicely towards a decent #3.
