OT - Weird Football Camp Video

I watch some of these videos that roll to the side of the message board and I really wonder what point some of these one-on-one drills is and what exactly they prove. The kid lining up as the DE isn't even in a good stance. And despite the obvious hold, there are a lot of things wrong with the kid's feet if you watch the rest of this sequence. It's nice to be the big strong kid in a camp like that but in the P5, everyone is big and strong. They're not doing either of these kids any favors by "whooping it up" over that play.

The dude does literally nothing correct and it’s supposed to be a hype video about what a stud OL he is. The guy that posted this should be embarrassed and i have no idea wtf the rest of those jokers at the camp were celebrating.

a saw a similar one last year about a “physical” DB who held a WR 3 times and threw him to the ground during a drill. So so stupid.

Pitt needs to offer. The fact that nobody knows what they are doing could be a plus. I am just kidding

Louis Riddick, Geoff Schwartz, Ross Tucker, Sean Salisbury, Tra Thomas, David Bakhtiari, Mike Golic, and other former NFL players and TV personalities calling it out for poor technique. Besides the obvious holding and throwing the defender into where the QB would be, he is completely off balance immediately after the snap. Easy for any defensive end to win with the spin move or with a speed rush and the lineman would be on his rear end against a bull rush. The coach should do right by the player and take the video down.

That’s the weirdest part of the whole video, the fact that nobody seems to realize that what just happened was a complete shit show from toe to tip.

It’s honestly odd that everyone there seems to think that what happened was somehow impressive, when in fact just the opposite was true. Everyone involved just comes off looking completely ridiculous.

They are literally whooping and chest bumping each other after the play when they should be coaching him up and encouraging him that while he was obviously bad there, he can definitely do better the next time.

If you wonder why so many kids end up in the transfer portal, there it is. They have their asses kissed by everyone 24/7 from the time they are 12 years-old and nobody is telling them the truth until they are signed to a scholarship on a roster.

I don’t even know if you can call these kids delusional if all these adults around them are perpetually perpetrating a fraud on them. Of course you’re going to believe that you’re great and infallible if everyone around you is continually telling you how great you are even when you clearly screw up.

Pitt has offered both the tackle and Defensive End in that video. The tackle goes to st frances in Maryland the de goes to northwestern HS in Miami.

Everyone is so outrage by this do to the lack of tech and basic fundamentals and I must laugh. Not because I don't agree with them, but because this is exactly where football has been heading. Most crap you see on the field today from tackling, route running, and recently blocking.

I have commented on this forum numerous of times, and this video confirms it. Fundamentals are just not being taught anymore. If fundamentals/basic skill was important, the video would be of the coach chewing the player out. This is the 7 on 7 culture coming home to roost.

Show me a play where Golic’s kid didn’t hold.
