I was talking with some friends about this, and I'm curious what people think. Personally, I landed on DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak. Some others were Tiger not missing the cut for 142 events over seven years. Also, PEDs or not, Lance Armstrong winning seven-straight Tour de France titles. He's a jerk, but he takes the heat in a sport where everyone was juicing.
To me, the record has to still be possible in modern sports to be relevant. For example, Cy Young having 500+ wins is amazing, but baseball was so much different then. It's not relevant to today. While 56-straight games with a hit still is amazing.
