Ouch

I'm still trying to figure out why it's a positive that there are 20 more minutes.

Half of The Pete left at the half. That's a shame because that was easily the biggest crowd of the season and it was noisy....for maybe the first 5 minutes. Duke could have beaten us by 50 if they wanted to. At least they had mercy on us.

That's what it looked like on TV. The Zoo was energized; lots of fans; and no energy from the team. Duke played defense as if they knew our every play.

True, this could've been way worse score wise but it was still pretty awful. If Pitt can't figure out how to beat Syracuse after a week off, their season may be over

Ugh

The Zoo was a line around the building at 9 am

They got the message Duke was in town

Not sure anyone else did

Agree. If we lay an egg against a mediocre SU team, this season is lost.

Your comment about the energy from the team is telling. Except for a few minutes at the start of the game when we blocked a couple of shots and stole the ball, this team played with no energy whatsoever on offense or defense. We didn't even get back on defense when Duke missed a jump shot on a fast break and got the rebound and scored. Lazy, lazy play. No one for Pitt was around.

And we reverted back to no ball movement and no flow with the offense. Watching how Duke moves the ball and communicates on offense and defense is amazing. That is coaching. Even players with limited talent can be coached to move the ball and communicate.

Every possession was stand around like statues no ball movement no setting anything up and throw up a brick then no offensive rebounds of course either

I recall exactly one series where they did some fast perimeter passes and it results in a brick miss 3…

Just horrible

That's too bad, because the Frisbee dogs were very entertaining.

I also left early, but it was midway through the second half. Some young guy in a Duke shirt shouted some shi$t at us as we were leaving. I yelled back: "Our coach is a Duke grad, and so like you, that means he's not very bright".

I couldn't believe how terrible Pitt was on ball movement, rebounding and defense. They looked like a junior high team playing Duke. It was as if they didn't have a coach.

I would have loved to see the frisbee dogs. That would have been worth it. I could have left after that.
