As you can see with the 3-safety look Hamlin becomes the nickel and Briggs, yes you read that correctly, takes his place at field safety. Why on earth they would think that’s a good idea is beyond me, and as we know he completely whiffs on the tackle leading to a first down. Wouldn’t it make more sense to put Mathis, Ford, or Pinnock out there as the nickel allowing them to keep Hamlin at his field safety position? If this is the secondary we’re rolling with on 3rd and long than we deserve what we get.
