That Pitt-girl is very, very funny. Me, not so much.

From what I understand Bell is also very polarizing within her own professional circles. I guess we'll see if this successful or not. I was somewhat shocked when I first read about it here this afternoon.

After a horrible shooting and double homicide at a graduation party in Wilkinsburg, she had the audacity to comment that she wondered if the shooters would end up being from broken families like you know, every other shooter the past 50 years. Since our culture has become completely insane, she was branded a racist somehow. It is criminal what happened to her.

Dorin Dickerson tweeted he was let go from the FAN. Some universe we live in.....we get Wendy Bell on our pregame but the Pitt alum who was employed by the station is not retained. Only in Yinzerburgh.

Gregg Giannotti is his name. He currently works with Boomer Esiason. He was clearly a cut above scrubs like Ron Cook who he had to work with.

Her comments pertaining to the waiter I thought were actually the worst. She is an idiot. Then after she gets canned she shows a video of herself at a sidewalk barbecue joint in Homewood on her blog commenting that she drove by it all the time on the way to taking her kids to dance. I listen to the pregame on the commute. Dorin was always in the early window so like 3 or 4 hrs before the game started. He is good. Not a good way for a pitt all American to be treated

I think it was foolhardy to fire DD (though perhaps that never actually happened) and for the Bell assignment to Pitt's (or any other sports team's) pregame show.

But people are more angry about one or both of these personnel decisions yet have no problem with an absolute piece of horse manure like Ron Cook working for the station. Ron Cook who proclaimed the Penn State Boy Rapes was "healed" a week after it broke because they won a game. Whose best friend Tom Bradley was confirmed in sworn court testimony to have leered at Sandusky anal raping little boys in the Pen State showers and never reporting it. And he's worked at that station daily for like a thousand years, not on odd occasional pre or post game shows. Nobody is bothered by that, eh?

There is no option with the same bandwidth. It is what it is.

My complaint with them isn't the shows - they are intended as "entertainment" and therefore subject to the hosts opinions and schtick, like it or not. It's a choice if you want to tune in. What I abhor is having Andrew Filliponi doing any pre game shows for football or hoops. He has demonstrated repeatedly his disdain for PITT sports in general and that time should be about promoting the University with positivity and not a vehicle for his opinions. It is not HIS show, but a PITT pre-game show.

I have met Poni he is actually a good dude. But he should not be doing Pitt shows. He is destined for NYC . Lastly discussing the Fan is ridiculous we give street cred to guys who barely make minimum wage and believe me the guys with print gigs aren't making sh*t either.
