And some posters here think the portal and current issues with college sports is a great thing.

Some think that college football hasn't always been run like a business, too. Before the open portal, I knew guys that openly hated their HC or couldn't stand the school they were at. One player was telling recruits to go elsewhere and the money just had to take indirect path's to players. This notion that every kid was rah, rah or that money wasn't a big influence in recruiting are just content to put the blinders back on. The portal just let these kids get away from some of the toxic nonsense or find playing time.

I would prefer we brought back the "Golden Panthers" than move money into the Ath. Department budget.
