We were ranked #204 in the NET ranking. There are a bunch of “no name teams” that could beat us. I don’t see next year being any better.
Serious question. Does anyone think that if Pitt can keep their top 7 returning players they can, with one good portal recruit improve to at least 9 ACC wins? Players should improve, if even a little.
The scenario you proposed would make them equivalent to what they had this year. The ACC was really down this year. The teams around us are going to get better. We need a lot more than 1 good portal recruit.
Only 1. If these guys are back, they will beat all those teams. Those losses came without Horton or not yet back to 100% game shape Burton.
There is - and hasn’t been - a general on the floor to make the coach’s vision of his offense go………whatever that is. The 3 will still be a contested 2…and the 3 will not be defended. Any infusion of portal talent will be consumed by the swoon culture. Hope I’m wrong.
IF everyone stays, and we know some will leave, we know that the rest of the ACC will be improved and we won't be. I don't see any quality portal players coming here knowing that Capel is an empty suit....or in his case an empty BLM T-shirt. They know he's just as good as gone after 2022-23. If we win 4 ACC games next year, it will be gifts and we'll be very fortunate. A 20+ loss season is almost a certainty now.
