I know fans overreact on message boards following a bad loss. We all are disappointed and angry after watching the game. But, the negativism and overreaction on this board is over the top. Replace Narduzzi, are you kidding me? Is this coming from trolls or Pitt fans? He is the same coach who beat PSU and Clemson a year ago. I didn't see posters questioning him then. Sometimes teams get their butt kicked and look poorly coached. It happens. If you've ever played and/or coached, you know this. Has your favorite teams, HS, college or pro, ever get crushed? You are spoiled and alone if you haven't experienced it before. Narduzzi has stabilized the program, and has younger talent that will develop. No, Pitt is not Alabama, Ohio St, Clemson, or some other elite programs, and it will not fill the stadium often being in a pro town. But, dammit, Pitt is a university to be proud of, and the new AD will have a chance to upgrade in all areas. Pitt, despite Saturday, has been very competitive against good teams. Judge the program in a couple years, when a true body of work exists. In the meantime, the program needs support, and by staying home, you will only hinder the progress and make things worse. If you think negativism and cynicism make you feel better, so be it, but that doesn't mean it helps. See some of you after the next loss, now crucify me for trying to react sensibly and being a loyal fan. HTP.

Isn't like 7 or 8 defensive guys have 3 starts to their name? Like what did people expect? Beat the teams we are supposed to and still have a nice season.

So not being happy with a blowout loss is bad?

Who are you to decide how someone should feel about a loss

I was as angry and disappointed at the game as everyone else. That doesn't mean one has to demean and trash the coach and program. If you're ok doing it, go for it. I am not. I have been there, at all levels, win and lose. There are mature and constructive ways to handle adversity and make suggestions, not like some on this board. The blowout loss really hurts, but there is much more of the season to play.

I truly love Pitt. But I think we might have the worst fans in P5 football. Nobody shows up to games and then when things go a little bad people become unbearable. The nonsense of firing Narduzzi may be the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

It hurts to lose. It hurts more to get beat badly. Yet GT74 you are right on. There was only 1 team that beat Clemson last year. It was a lot more than luck to win that game for sure. That was an epic win for the program and nothing can take it away. I think what hurts so bad is when you get totally embarrassed in a game. You at least want to feel competitive even though you know you are playing a more talented team. A certain unmentionable coach once said that you are never as good as you think you are when you win and your not as bad as you think you are when you lose. Sometimes, mismatches in games just start steamrolling and the result is ugly and devastating. It will be interesting to see if the team can rebound. Its tough not to have a damaged psyche after a beat down, but that's what coaches, captains, and team leaders have to do - rally. If the coaches don't lose the team and pick it up in conference play, the season can finish with a much different feeling. Yeah, attendance, lack of fan support, no off-campus stadium, etc. hurt the program. Its even tougher on the kids who dream of the opportunity to play on the big stage. I understand that for many the board is a safe place to dump the disappointment and frustration, not to mention the trolls that pile on. Even though I'm a passionate guy and in my youth allowed that to get me into trouble, I've learned that there is always a better way than dumping all my crap in public. Just like the team needs to rally, so does the fan base who can help the team rebound with their support. You've seen Narduzzi's coaching at its best and hopefully now its worst. I like the upside much more. Lets rally and be the 12th man for this team. End of sermon.

Bet WVU doesn't expect an assss kicking against OKIE ST!

We get the program we ask for or allow

Agreed . we also like to speculate that Duzz will leave at first opportunity. What is it does Mr. duzz suck or is he in high demand. Our fans are just awful.

WVU may be a little better than Pitt right now, but maybe not in the near future. It is arrogant to think that the program is as good as its fans 'allow'. Fans provide financial support, but do not determine how good the team is, the coaches and players determine that. Are you saying that all of the colleges that don't sell out or have big donors are no good, or vice versa? Or, are you referring to fans 'suggestions' and 'reactions' on message boards?

Getting humiliated like that hurts and people lash out. Some at the team and some like you at other fans. Neither is very helpful or mature. That is why we are called fans (fanatics). At least it proves that people are still passionate. The folks that are pissed aren't the problem. The issue is that tens of thousands have gotten tired of constantly being pissed and are now memorialized by an empty yellow seat at Heinz.
