I feel like when it comes to safeties, we've talked a lot about Donovan McMillon and Javon McIntyre as the returning starters and Cruce Brookins and Jesse Anderson as the on-the-rise young players. P.J. O'Brien often ends up becoming the forgotten man, but that probably shouldn't be the case. After all, he had three interceptions last season, and has to be close to a half-dozen turnovers in training camp this year - like this one.
O'Brien seems like he's got the ability to make plays. I don't think he'll push McMillon out of a starting spot, but McIntyre has to be watching over his shoulder. And even if O'Brien doesn't win a starting job, it seems like it will be tough to keep him off the field this season. Throw in Brookins, and we could be looking at a four-man rotation at safety. They might not all get equal reps, but those guys seem like they are earning playing time.
