PA Wins Big 33 (21-0)

Brandon George was a stud and Gipson played well. They will both be playmakers. George will get PT this year. This recruiting class will be better than predicted IMO. AJ Woods had an INT for MD. Woods can be a legit 4.4 guy.
What position do you see George getting PT at in ‘19?

Glad to hear that AJ Woods has speed. Met him at the spring game and he didn’t look very big...

Go Pitt.

I’d like to see them keep him at LB, but he could outgrow the position and end up at DL or TE/H-Back if they move him to offense. He will be good on ST as well. The kid is a player.
im excited for him and I too hope he stays at mlb. we should be in a position where we can redshirt him if he is a MLB but if he plays, well then he turned some heads in summer camp (or we got hit hard by injuries).

Wow - I remember when this game mattered...now, I didn't even know it was going on until I read this thread

Didn't OH opt out of it or something?

It's not really clear why Ohio is not longer involved, but it seems that the game has gone through various iterations and PA has played Maryland before. As far as I can tell, there have been Big 33 games in the past without Ohio but never without Pennsylvania. Seems the powers that be wanted Maryland over Ohio for some reason.

I think the problem with Ohio is that they already have a traditional North v South all-star game and didn’t want to have their kids playing in both. Plus, the fact that PA no longer is on their level in HS FB.

I can remember back to when the game was PA v Texas. At one time it was competitive and then Texas began to totally dominate it, so the series was cancelled.

The way PA HS FB is trending, soon it might be PA v Delaware.

I used to run a big youth soccer tournament down in Hershey, while the game fell on Father's Day weekend most years.

A few years back I was prepping some fields at the local HS where the Maryland team was practicing, and was getting in my rental PU just as their practice was ending.

For whatever reason their practice was a good ways from the locker rooms, and one of the players asked if he could hop a ride with me up to the fieldhouse.

I was like "sure." That opened the floodgates and I had about 15 or so pile on for the ride.
