(Warning, long read) A few on here asked yesterday about how some former Panthers were doing in the NFL with half of the preseason over with, and since I've made a thread on this recently, I figured I'd put another one together.

Veteran Standouts
- LeSean McCoy: He was recently held out of practice with a groin injury (similar to another Pitt RB), but it sounds like it's more of a precaution than anything. The only real action he's gotten was a preseason game vs the Browns, getting 11 yards on four carries.
- Aaron Donald: Although there was some talk of him reaching an agreement with LA, he still doesn't have a contract extension. The other interesting piece to this is that the Rams just signed another player not named AD to an extension today. Time's ticking; Looks like it may end up in a similar situation as last year.
- Larry Fitzgerald: Fitz hasn't made much noise this preseason- why would he?- but had one catch in a preseason game versus the Saints.

Other Veterans
- Tyler Boyd: Reports have said he's had an excellent preseason so far. He caught a TD in the Bengals preseason opener, but also lost a fumble against the Cowboys in the second game. It's safe to say he's solidified himself as Dalton's second option.
- Dion Lewis: Looked good in his two preseason games with the Titans, including this shifty run. Sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder, coming out and saying that the Patriots "didn't think (he) was good enough."
- James Conner: Most probably know about his status. Getting first team carries with the absence of Bell. Got his first career TD, preseason or regular season, against the Packers. Also had this nice run. Looks like he recovered from the groin injury. Looks slimmer than prior years.
- Nate Peterman: Once again, he's impressed the Bills with his training camp and threw a nice TD in the first game. With AJ McCarron going down, it looks like it's down to him and rookie Josh Allen. Although this looking like an uphill battle for Nate, I think he'll start the season opener and be on a tight leash, similar to how Tom Savage was with the Texans last year. Speaking of him..
- Tom Savage: He's moved on from Houston and is now backing up Brees in Nola. It sounds like he's struggled a bit this camp. Hopefully he can bounce back by the time the season starts.
- Jabaal Sheard: After making PFF's Top 101 players, it sounds like he's done great in training camp and has been projected to be a breakout player in the Colts' new defensive system under the new coach. Hopefully that's the case.
- TJ Clemmings: After struggling in Minnesota, he's now with the Redskins where he'll begin his first full season with him. Right now, he's projected as a third string LT, which means he might be fighting for a roster spot. He's been a bit banged up but hasn't been in the news lately, which might be a good thing for him.
- Andy Lee: Lee is still in the NFL and is now the punter for the Cardinals. It seems that he has some job security for now, as he signed a two year extension through 2020 with ARZ in June and it seems that he's the only punter on the roster.
- Ejuan Price: Had a solid first season with the Rams last season and is still on their roster heading into 2018. He's had a good camp and should make the roster this year, as he had an impressive outing vs BAL with two tackles and a tackle a few nights ago.
- Ryan Lewis: Signed with the Patriots toward the end of the 2017 season and is still there right now. Not sure of his chances making the roster with a crowded secondary. The only stat he's had this preseason was an assisted tackle vs Washington.
- Adam Bisnowaty/Dorian Johnson: Both were cut by their original teams last season and both wound up in Carolina. Biz is currently the third string RT while Dorian is listed as the fourth string LG. Seems that either one or both may get cut.
- Bam Bradley: Hasn't been able to do anything with the Ravens so far this preseason since he's recovering from a torn ACL injury.
- Nicholas Grigsby: Finished up last season in New England, which is where he's at this preseason. Expect him to make the roster, since he's had a good outing and is currently listed as the backup ILB behind Dont'a Hightower.
- Lafayette Pitts: He had a home in Miami the past two years but is now with Shady and Peterman in Buffalo. Currently the 5th/6th CB on the roster, which means he should get a roster spot for the regular season.
- K’Waun Williams: After a year or two off following a stint with the Browns, Williams is entering is second year as starting nickel back with the 49ers. However, he has missed quite some time recently due to injuries.

Rookies
- Avante Maddox: He's had a great training camp with Philly and has gotten some first string reps in preseason. He continues to progress great.
- Brian O'Neill: He's replaced Clemmings in the "former Pitt OL in Minneosta" role. Brian's looked good, but I wouldn't expect to see him catching screen passes anytime soon.
- Jordan Whitehead: Before his shoulder injury, he looked pretty good in preseason, including this nice play from his NFL debut. Currently third string SS in Tampa.

Undrafted Rookies
- Matt Flanagan (WAS), Dontez Ford (DET), Scott Orndoff (JAX), Quadree Henderson (PIT), Jaryd Jones-Smith (HOU), Jester Weah (HOU), and Ryan Winslow (CHI) are all on NFL squads entering camp. Orndoff had a TD in his first game as a Jaguar while Winslow has a real chance to beat out the incumbent punter in Chicago, Pat O'Donnell, and earn a roster spot there.

Others in the NFL
- As most know, Mannessah Garner was placed on IR after tearing his ACL, and the Redskins picked up fellow Pitt alum JP Holtz to replace him. Shakir Soto is on a roster with Jon Gruden and the Raiders while Matt Galambos is once again trying to make the active roster with the Steelers (perhaps he has a better shot this year with the loss of Shazier?).

Panthers in Other Leagues
- As @BamaPanther mentioned, Allen Edwards has signed with the the startup AAF's Atlanta franchise, coached by former Pitt CB and father of Ryan Lewis, Tim Lewis.
- After spending a few years in the NFL, Tommie Campbell is in his third season in the CFL, playing for Montreal.

I think there's a chance that we could see over 20 former Panthers make an NFL roster for the upcoming season. H2P.
