Partridge

Hiring a retread is almost always a failure, learn from past mistakes duzzi. Plenty of fish in the sea, no reason to go thru old coaches and hope the second time around is better.

Understand your point, but I'd love a second round of Jabaal Sheard and Greg Romeus.

Don't think he's a typical retread. He worked his way to being a HC and for whatever reason it didn't work out.

He's a young guy, a good DL coach and a good recruiter with deep ties in Fla. Perhaps we could do better - I don't know. But we could certainly do a lot worse.

-why would we not want someone with deep ties into Florida? That would be asinine. Even if he couldnt coach to save his life, just getting us Florida Athletes is worth it. .

my point was more in the general sense and not a knock on him. I recall him being a pretty good recruiter for us.

Don't know but here is Bio at Age 43:
Partridge served as defensive line coach, linebackers coach, and special teams coordinator of the Pitt Panthers for five seasons before joining the Wisconsin Badgers. He was named co-defensive coordinator at Wisconsin in January 2011. On December 15, 2012 the University of Arkansas announced the hiring of Partridge as the defensive line coach. Partridge was widely credited as Wisconsin's lead recruiter in the state of Florida, and helped land five-star running back Alex Collins for the Razorbacks in his first two months on the job. Partridge followed former Wisconsin Badgers head coach Bret Bielema to Arkansas.

Majors and Peterson do too.
I almost included that because I knew that would be your comeback. We can play that game all day long. I am sure if we both want to waste the rest of the evening we both could come up with successes and failures. Even Pelino who got fired took YSU to their final in 2-3 years. I guess we will see how Strong and Edsel do next year.

I know. Again, a general statement. Nothing to be analyzed and dissected.

That is something I cannot argue against bc that does seem to be the case. I am hoping that PN is the savior finally.

No.

I don't know how you see Partridge as a retread though.

He coached here a decade ago under a different head coach. And he's only 43.

Plenty of guys aren't even head coaches by age 43.
I meant bringing back a coach that has been here before. Just an observation. He may be great. Duzzi will do what he wants, won't be concerned on our thoughts on the subject.

He didn't get fired. He left and wen to Wisky, where he became an associate head coach and Arkansas, where he was assistant head coach. Then he became a head coach.

I wouldn't call him a "retread" at all.

I didn't say he was fired.
