Paterno statues being made in secrecy

Interesting, it depicts in an ironic way the very secrecy and cover ups that happen at Penn State University due to the criminal attempt to protect Paterno's Financial Football Program is now being reflected in building a Secret Statue at a Secret location, but no longer a Secret?

Maybe a wealthy Penn State Contributor will purchase land and build a Statue for Children as symbol for victims of Adult Molestation to be recognized for the bravery to disclose it, confront it, and in that way will salute, honor, and recognize true courage more than winning Football Games?

This is how to Honor Penn State University and the Reforms required to correct the Paterno Football Era?

The Pedster child-rape apologists at the bottom of the linked article make me weep for humanity. Thankfully, at least some of the people posting comments care more about the lives of children than a statue to honor a dead pedophile enabler.

To add insult to injury... Most have never met him...

Statues? Plural?.... Made in secrecy? LOL....insane just insane.

The new statute will have Joe Pa depicted with a clenched fist which signifies "peace and unity." LOL. That is the delusional JoeBots' big FU to the world

I found the idea of a traveling statue very humorous but in all honesty what a money making possibility. There are so many cult members that would shell out $$$ to take pictures with it.

These people will go to their graves in unbelief. No amount of truth will convince them otherwise.

Just saw Spotlight. Made me angry all over again. These cultists have no shame and absolutely no self awareness.

An alumni elected bot member (Anthony Lubrano) who regularly posts on BWI is nominating another board regular for a spot on their board. Not sure there is another fan base like theirs in the country.

Boy you guys sure have a lot of hate for a fan base who doesn't say crap about pitt. I mean they haven't played in years. Who cares. I'm Both a pitt and psu season ticke holder so I follow both. I'm looking forward to the game this fall as a good clean rivalry game.

How do you feel about the fact that the majority of your fan base still worships a man who should have done more to stop pedophilia and victim bashes those who had their lives destroyed. That is where the "hate" you speak of exists.

I can't speak for the whole fan base as I'm sure you can't as well. That being said Sandusky will be judged by his maker as well as paterno was. I try not to judge. All that being said, I personally don't believe joepa purposefully hid a child malestor. Again if he did he was judged, but I really don't think he did. That's all. Don't carry all that hate, you don't need to. It's a game, that's all folks.

I completely agree, it's just a game. I believe your holier than thou fan base has always seen psu football as much more than that. You know "success with honor" and "the grand experiment" which were clear bs. Fact is when the lights were off he could have clearly done the right thing and chose to go about his life not doing so. He had the power to be all those things he claimed to be, but never was. I don't carry any hate, I just think it's sad your fan base still believes in a Santa Claus that so clearly does not exist.

The very words in the post above proves that most Penn State Fans & Fan Base has been chasing Pitt Players Alumni Sports Records, Accomplishments of Autumn, and enjoy posting about Pitt every day on BWI Boards and are welcomed on the Lair that prove it as well.

How sick do you have to be to worship a scumbag like paterno? The good he did does not outweigh the bad he did!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Paterno: I’m a football coach at the Pennsylvania State University.

Q: As that football coach at the Pennsylvania State University, did you have as employed under you an individual by the name of Jerry Sandusky?

Mr. Paterno: I did for a while, yes.

Q: Do you currently have employed for you since sometime in the early 2000s an assistant coach named Michael McQueary?

Mr. Paterno: Yes.

Q: I’d like to direct your attention to what I believe would be a spring break of 2002, around that time. Do you recall Michael McQueary calling you and asking to have a discussion with you about something that he observed?

Mr. Paterno: I’m not sure of the date, but he did call me on a Saturday morning. He said he had something that he wanted to discuss. I said, come on over to the house.

He came over to the house.

And as I said, I’m not sure what year it was, but I know it was a Saturday morning and we discussed something he had seen.

Q: Without getting into any graphic detail, what did Mr. McQueary tell you he had seen and where?

Mr. Paterno: Well, he had seen a person, an older — not an older, but a mature person who was fondling, whatever you might call it — I’m not sure what the term would be — a young boy.

Q: Did he identify who that older person was?

Mr. Paterno: Yes, a man by the name of Jerry Sandusky who had been one of our coaches, was not at the time.

Q: You’re saying that at the time this incident was reported to you, Sandusky was no longer a coach?

Mr. Paterno: No, he had retired voluntarily. I’m not sure exactly the year, but I think it was either ‘98 or ‘99.

Q: I think you used the term fondling. Is that the term that you used?

Mr. Paterno: Well, I don’t know what you would call it. Obviously, he was doing something with the youngster.

It was a sexual nature. I’m not sure exactly what it was.

I didn’t push Mike to describe exactly what it was because he was very upset. Obviously, I was in a little bit of a dilemma since Mr. Sandusky was not working for me anymore.

So I told — I didn’t go any further than that except I knew Mike was upset and I knew some kind of inappropriate action was being taken by Jerry Sandusky with a youngster.

Q: Did Mike McQueary tell you where he had seen this inappropriate conduct take place?

Mr. Paterno: In the shower.

Q: Where was the shower?

Mr. Paterno: In the Lasch Building.

Q: Is that on the campus of Penn State University?

Mr. Paterno: It’s right on the campus.

Q: Did you tell Mike McQueary at that time what you were going to do with that information that he had provided to you?

Mr. Paterno: I don’t know whether I was specific or not. I did tell Mike, Mike, you did what was right; you told me.

Even though Jerry does not work for the football staff any longer, I would refer his concerns to the right people.

Q: You recall this taking place on a Saturday morning, the conversation with Mike?

Mr. Paterno: Yes.

Q: When did you — did you do something with that information?

Mr. Paterno: Well, I can’t be precise.

I ordinarily would have called people right away, but it was a Saturday morning and I didn’t want to interfere with their weekends.

I read that years ago. I get what your saying. If you didn't live there and know these men, you have no idea the other side. You know what the media wants you to know. Look I'm not going to get in a pissing match as I don't really don't care that much about what you think. My point is I'm not here to judge these men. Let God do that.

There are a few fighting for paterno legacy. The paternos lambrano etc. that's their choice and have that right.

The other side? The other side of morality? The comment that Sandusky didn’t work for him implies he would have punished him on his own. This was legal matter! Really not that hard to comprehend!

I also put McQuerry in the same boat as all the others who knew and did nothing. The difference is that I have not heard about a group of nuts wanting to build a statue of him!

For someone who claims that he doesn't judge, you're here on a Pitt message board judging Pitt fans. How's the view from that pedestal that you've climbed onto?

So the Paternos, Lambranos, etc have the right to an opinion about JVP's legacy, but Pitt fans don't?

Touché

Point made,

I just don't like the hate and understand it. Is it my age and don't under stand the 80's and the rivalry. Healthy competition is good but I feel there is a lot of comments that are unjust. Any thoughts?

Pay attention, Slappy. Cultists from psu have always hated Pitt. But we're not a haven for pedophile enablers. Joe knew, for years. And he hid it to save his carefully manufactured image. You all should piss on that statue for the humiliation he brought to your school.
