I think most of us will remember that Paul Chryst made an effort here to copy the Wisconsin model of putting a lot of focus on the walk-on program, getting the highest quality players into that program that he could, and ultimately developing at least a few of them into contributing scholarship athletes.
Fast-forward to today, and it occurred to me that Chryst's last of class (2014) features three such players who earned scholarships here in George Aston, Seun Idowu, and now Kellen McAlone. Obviously Pat Narduzzi and his staff deserve the lion's share of the credit for developing these three, but I think that's a neat, as Chryst would say, footnote to HCPC's time here at Pitt.
