Lamar Steven's declared for the draft but may still come back. That is no surprise. What was surprising was 2nd leading scorer Rasir Bolton, FR from VA decided to transfer and his dad cited non-basketball, non-academic reasons. He was a little cryptic but it sounded like he was trying to make a case for immediate eligibility. And of course Mike Watkins isn't expected to play another year of college basketball at age 24 but who knows. 3rd leading scorer Josh Reaves is graduating and I have seen him listed as a 2nd Rounder.

If Stevens and Watkins leave, PSU could seriously go 0-20.

I didn't watch PSU last year but based on Bolton's stats, I'd take him but I doubt he'd want to back up Johnson.

This is unbelievable. A few years back many on this board were saying Chambers was going to ride the Philly boys to the final four.

Bolton showed some really good promise and with Myles Dread looked to be part of a good backcourt for the next few years. His stats were good (nearly 12 ppg) and he sure looked like their next high-end scorer once Stevens leaves the program (whether that be this year or next). Huge blow to Chambers. He’d certainly be worth kicking the tires on.

In fairness, the Philly guys were all excellent college players. Carr and Stevens were elite Big Ten players. Watkins was a head case, but had big time ability. Garner and Reaves probably didn’t get enough credit for being as good as they were. Frankly, the team was good enough to get to the NCAAs and make noise... the coaching was not.

I’d love

just imagine if Dixon landed Carr, Stevens and Konate to go along with Cam and Luther. After making 10 tourneys in 12 years I’m not sure how it didn’t happen, but I do know and Jaylen Bond isn’t the reason.

You didn’t see any PSU games all last year? I always see you making statements about players/teams all across the country, now I’m suspecting that you haven’t seen many of them.

Certainly explains why he's always wrong.

Not last year. I did watch some of an early season game and was impressed with Dread but no I didn't watch any other PSU that I can remember. Why would I?

I predicted PSU to the Final Four? Pretty sure I did not. I made no such predictions about PSU basketball because I knew they had a horrible coach. I will say that he had Sweet 16 level talent in 17-18 and NCAAT last season. Those Philly kids were all super talented but they didn't win enough

Reaves’ game reminds me a lot of Trey’s. He was the B1G defensive player of the year, and I could see Trey becoming that in the ACC.

Bolton was pretty good for a freshman and is a big blow for them. I think Stevens returns, but Chambers gets the axe after 2019-20.

Not the Final Four, but UPS is another team, along with St, John's that you predicted good things for because they had guys who could recruit coaching there and recruiting is far more important than actually coaching in your eyes.

Right up until it isn't, apparently.

Apparently Watkins is planning to return to PSU next year. It’s a long off-season so nothing is for sure especially with his issues, but that’s good news for Chambers.

If Stevens comes back, that's a team with the talent to get to the NCAAT. They won't but those are 2 really talented players. They could be our Big Ten opponent in the challenge.
