Every year. Over ranked and over hyped, then they get their butts kicked. Love it. Like clockwork.

Honestly, I think Penn State wins today in a low-scoring affair. At least they should; this is the best chance they’ve had against OSU in a while.

I agree. I dont think OSU is good this year. It will be interesting to see how PSU does in their season-opener today. They looked good in the exhibition portion. They now have a 2 game season to make the CFP

Losing to Ohio State sure beats being 2-5 and losing to Wake Forest.
Keep your dreams alive. Lol. Your hero boy savior QB was awful today. I thought I was watching Phil Jurkovec play for The Pedophile st university. Allar is dynamite against UMass, but, when you play a good team he was trash. I won't put it all on him tho. The incomparable Jimmy Franks is to blame. After all, you can't blame Allar for that woeful schedule you played up until today. Maybe if you played a team with a pulse prior to today, he may have been a little more comfortable in what he was about to get into today.

Lol. Yeah but you guys thought "this is finally the year" again, and as usual, ass whoopin and still OSU's bitch.

For your sake, you won't have to play Michigan this season.
Did you mean next season?? Their Michigan beating will be coming in November.

Dont worry, he has Rutgers, Indiana, Carlow College, and Point Park coming up. Look out Rose Bowl!!!!

Hmm, there’s near nothing being reported about this game today locally in the 412 market?

The PG doesn't have a beat writer anymore, rely on wire service. Maybe due to the strike. Although their resident fan boy Adam Bittner went and was lamenting how it will get better once they don't have to play OSU every year in the future. I guess Cook preferred the free flight to LA to cover the Steelers than goring to Columbus. I wonder if he thinks Allar is still "worth the wait" or if now he will "need to see more"

What where the OSU fans chanting at ups fans in the 4th quarter that was obscene?

I guess the new thing in college football is to troll the visitors with an obscene version of a song like WVU did. OSU played that song by Zombie Nation and the fans threw in "f*** you Penn State."

Better ban that song, like SP did with Pitt's fight song.

Cook was glowingly predicting this was the year PSU was going to break the streak. Wonder if he will follow-up that column from last week with something this week saying how wrong he was. Better chance of snowfall tomorr
lol, or how about one of them even actually saying out loud ?
THEY LAID AN EGG
nope, they all have to be part of the #cult or afraid of the wrath or whatever.
100% not unbiased coverage.
Until then, the parade of Pitt shit continues from them midweek.

Tied with 2-5 Indiana with 2 minutes left. At home. They'll probably squeak this one out and move up to #8.

Indiana deserves to lose after handing off 3 times in a row and playing for a tie. Did they think PSU wasn't going to come right back down the field? I'm so tired of watching scared coaches lose games.

Does Drew Allar suck? Asking for a friend. They keep their Orange Bowl hopes alive though. 10-2. #7 ranking. What a joke

100% agree with this, was a really stupid move on his part. Score a TD there and both the crowd and PSU players start to go into panic mode. Even if you turn it over Indiana still had 3 timeouts and a chance to get the ball back and tie/win it at the end.

Going conservative with the running plays there was just setting yourself up to fail.

And speaking of overrated BIG teams how is “Locks” looking right about now? From 5-0 to 5-3 coming off losses to horrible Illinois and Northwestern teams. It’s the same thing every year for them, start out the season hot beating absolutely no one, then come limping down the stretch hoping to become bowl eligible. As it stands now they need to win on the road at either Nebraska or Rutgers to get to 6 wins.

The guy may be a hell of a recruiter but can’t coach his way out of a paper bag even if it was soaking wet and slightly torn already.

His record as a favorite is excellent though. He recruits 9-10 wins per year

Career record overall, 28-57. Career conference record overall, 15-45.

They haven't won 9 games in a season since 2006, and they haven't won ten in a season since 2003.

They have forever been by the 3rd best BIG program (at best) and now they have USC and Oregon coming in, so they won't be any higher than the 5th best program.

I think a couple of you guys think that a post that was obviously about Maryland and their coach "Locks", Mike Locksley, was actually about Penn State.

His comment that they were 5-3 and had lost to Illinois and Northwestern should have been the giveaway, if calling him "Locks" wasn't enough.

I will admit that I added this to the PSU thread because I was semi annoyed that another poster referred to Locksley as “Locks” last week. Guy hasn’t done nearly enough to deserve any kind of cutesy nickname.

Point still stands though, they will continue to have the same type of results every year. Rutgers is almost identical in this regard and as luck would have it they end the season playing each other. Inevitably both will probably be 6-5 heading into this matchup.
