This program kinda remind me of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard.
Living in the past and still waiting for the glory days to return.

So, 25-19 against conference foes at The Pete the last 5 years. Throw in the loss to Purdue and we are 25-20 against Power 5 teams. 26-20 if you really count Penn State as a Power 5 program.

If you looked deeper, I am sure our record would be below .500 against NCAAT teams at the Pete the last 5 years. This is why I cringe when I hear Dixon and Barnes say nobody wants to play is here because of our home record. Yea right. We suck at home against anybody with a pulse so if you call up LSU and they say they are too scared because we never lose at home, just simply show them the numbers. When Pitt was great, we were great at home. When Pitt is average, we are around .500 at home. This is no different than most programs. I'm sorry but nobody is afraid to play here because this team didn't lose when they were getting 1, 2, and 3 seeds. That's just stupid and it made me lose a lot of respect for Barnes.

28-20 if you count Washington State, which, since just like Penn State they actually are a P5 school, you ought to do if you are going to use P5 record as the metric.

They've laid some eggs( with nary a big win either) at home the last few years which was almost unthinkable not that long ago.
A big win couldn't come at a better time.

I still remember that first home loss (Syracuse). There was a little 10 or 11 year old girl that sat next to us. She came to every game, face painted and cheered like crazy. When that first loss happened, (she'd never seen them lose in person) she was wailing like she'd seen her mother stabbed.
